Season 2 of "El Chapo" available for binge-watching December 15 on Netflix
The Netflix / Univision Series “El Chapo”, Features the Iconic Narcocorrido “Cruz de Marihuana”
The drama series, which chronicles the true story of the rise, capture and escape of notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo” Guzmán, features the Narcocorrido “Cruz de Marihuana” performed by Grupo Aguilas del Norte. The track, which sets the mood for a scene during the fourth episode of the second season, had over 16 million views on YouTube even before this placement but it’s popularity has seen a trend upwards since the show’s run on Univision in October of this year, tracking over half a million views per month.
“It’s a good example of adding value", says CdA Music Group’s Founder and CEO,
Ivan F. Alvarez, an industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience in the music industry. “Synch placements are a great way to not only give a track a quick injection of income but also helps to elevate the overall activity which works to maximize income. As a business, we know it means a lot to be readily accessible to music buyers and provide them the kind of turnaround in clearance and licensing that fits their deadline”. For the past eleven years, CdA Music Group, a rights management company, has been helping artists, songwriters and catalogues find their place in today’s vast digital marketplace. It has earned a reputation as the place to go to clean up and monetize copyrights by specializing in sorting through, conditioning and protecting catalogues of varying sizes regardless of time off the market or the number of infringers taking advantage of the digital space’s confused landscape. “The goal has always been to maximize the value of the assets and ensure that all income generated makes it to their label and publishing partners while also providing marketing and online analytic tools to help them better understand what unique opportunities may exist for their specific offerings”, added Alvarez.
